Debby heads our Indonesian disputes and restructuring practices, with extensive experience in commercial disputes, arbitration, corporate restructuring and insolvency. 

Debby’s dispute resolution practice focuses on complex high-value disputes. She has extensive experience representing international clients in handling transnational and complex commercial disputes before Indonesian courts, as well as in domestic and international arbitrations. In addition to advising clients on contentious matters, she also provides strategic advice and dispute avoidance tactics, drawing on her distressed market experience. 

Debby has particular experience in restructuring, workouts and corporate insolvency, and leads our top-ranked Indonesian bankruptcy and restructuring practice. She has acted for international clients in a number of high-profile bankruptcy and restructuring cases in Indonesia.

Debby is a ranked a Top Tier Lawyer for Restructuring/Insolvency by Chambers and a Leading Individual for Dispute Resolution in Indonesia by both Chambers and Legal 500.  She is also a Litigation Star and among the Top 100 Women in Litigation in Asia Pacific (Benchmark Litigation).

 

Background

Debby trained with Hiswara Bunjamin & Tandjung and the London office of associated firm Herbert Smith Freehills in her early years of practice. She was a partner at two other Indonesian firms with international tie-ups before returning to HBT in August 2017.
